Bagdad is a young cross breed who is full of life and personality; like many dogs he is happy, vocal and very playful. His home is shared with other dogs, both big and small, with endless fun and adventures.
Bagdad’s owner, Sara, would move mountains for the animals she cares for; providing a love that many had not previously experienced – with Sara, Bagdad knows that he is safe.
However Bagdad’s story started with a much darker beginning –
After a cruel attack, Bagdad was found with three missing paws and fighting for his life.
The following photos show the serverity of Bagdads attack.
Once Sara received Bagdad from his rescuer (Marina), she did all she could to stabilise his condition and bring him home to the UK where she could get the treatment he needed.
Despite negative input from many specialists, Sara found a vet who supported Bagdad’s progress and today he lives on to tell his tale.
Bagdad’s disability does limit his mobility but it does not define him. Some days he feels pain more than others, but it does not change this cheeky chap!
A set of prosthetic legs would make a world of a difference to Bagdad’s quality of life. However as any pet owner knows, veterinary bills are costly and Bagdad is now in need of all our support.

Unfortunately there are many dogs in other countries like Bagdad and it is not uncommon for dogs to have their limbs cut off.
Help Paws4Bagdad raise awareness, and work to educate people of man’s best friend, through Bagdad’s story.
