Pax's Heartworm Treatment

We found Pax as a stray.  She appeared to have recently broken free from a chain. She was confused, dirty, and timid. When we won her trust, she wagged her tail, then rolled over for belly rubs. She was thrilled to get so much attention! Pax doesn't completely understand how to be a dog yet, but she is learning about toys, treats, leash walks, and other dogs. The good news is that she's a sweet, smart girl. The bad news is that she's not spayed, has obviously been tied up in someone's yard, and is heartworm positive.

We are deeply grateful to have found a loving foster home for Pax this week. She is with a sweet, gentle family who will be patient with her as she adjusts to her new life. 

We are very low on donations right now, so we are fundraising for the following:

- Pax's initial exam, heartworm test, vaccinations, and medication for an ear infection: $120
- a wire crate, food, treats, and other supplies: $85
- six-month heartworm treatment: $600
- spay and microchip: $122

The total for all of the items listed above is $927. Our goal is to raise $1000. We assume that other expenses may arise during the process of getting Pax back to good health, so we would like to be prepared. If there is any money left over at the end of her treatment, we will apply it to our next foster dog or cat.
