Help pehrspace Find A New Home


On June 6, 2016, pehrspace received a 60-day notice from our new landlord, terminating our lease that we’ve had for the past 10 years. The outpouring of shocked, angry, concerned, kind, and loving messages from the musical, artistic, and generally wonderful community that surrounds us has bolstered our resolve to continue on in a new space.

Since 2006, pehrspace has been home to musicians, artists, and thinkers looking for a safe, non-judgemental environment to express themselves and, on an even more basic level, a place for friends to visit with each other. Our aim is to support and encourage people who care about creating an open and involved community that can inspire more and more people to do the same. We support initiative, involvement, progress, and propagation!

We are a space for all-ages, volunteers, not-for-profit, an art gallery, a music venue, performance art, workshops, practicing, music videos, noise, puppet shows, pageants, table readings, film screenings, visual music, clothing swaps, touring artists and bands, screen-printing, zine-making, drawing, dancing, karaoke, talking, sticker swapping, recording, book selling, tacos, pancakes, celebrating, kids’ orchestra, more eating, spiritual arts, learning about plants, exchanging ideas, piñatas, visiting and yeah, most anything. Our space is yours to make your own.

Our focus has been sharpened by the move we’re forced to make on August 4, 2016. We see this as an opportunity to be better, to create a more sustainable and stronger environment to support our community in a new space.

When we move, we will register as a non-profit, seeking funds through grants for special events/workshops and supporting artists in their search for project grants. 

In order to move, we need your help, more than ever. We’ve done our best for 10 years to keep going, trying to grow and expand our scope of creativity. The cost of our events are kept low (usually $5, sometimes FREE) and so our savings are also low. 

The money you donate will go directly to the cost of renting and moving to a comparable-sized new space, renovations, inspections, upgrades to our well-worn sound system, and non-profit registration and legal fees. Any additional donations we receive beyond our goal will ensure that we can keep going even further with our efforts. All amounts are welcome, big or small.

Our time is short, we need to immediately find a new space, gather enough funds, and move in less than two months.

Thank you for all the support for these past 10 years, it’s been incredible and, really quite remarkable. It means so much to us to still exist. We hope to make a new home for you to visit soon.
