Advancing Bhutan's Health Resources

Donation protected
Hi friends!
This summer I will be traveling to the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland and to the country of Bhutan to work on implementing CT scanners and imaging machines in Bhutan.
Why is this important?
Well first, a little bit about Bhutan! Bhutan is a restricted country located near China and India.
Bhutan is a georgeous country full of culture and mountainous beauty! Yet, despite all of its beauty, Bhutan has very limited resources in medical technology, with only one CT scanner in the entire country, and no mammography machines. Therefore, many people present with illnesses and diseases at very late stages. With the implementation of more CT scanners and radiological machines, we can help the health and overall outcomes of the Bhutanese people. For example, we can detect breast cancer in a woman before it has metastasized. We can detect tumors and cancers in children before they become incurable. CT scanners and radiological imaging greatly improves health outcomes.

During my travels to Bhutan, I will be working with The American Bhutanese Associates for Health Foundation, Inc. to investigate the cultural and structural barriers in implementing these medical devices. I will be working in the area of maternal empowerment in pediatric radiologic development.

As you can imagine, it is extremely expensive to conduct research in a restricted country! Specifically, Bhutan charges a fee of $300 a day to be in the country. Additionally, I will be traveling to the World Health Organization to work with a representative from the RAD-AID organization, which is a nonprofit organization that works towards implementing radiological equipment in countries that lack them.

Please help me make this research trip possible!!! I'd love to answer any questions and provide more information to anyone interested!
Thank you so much for taking the time to consider this!! Let's help the Bhutanese people!
