Helping the Homeless

Hello, Lifeboat Alliance is a family shelter that serves the Southern Illinois region. Lifeboat is a non-for-profit volunteer shelter that runs off of the good faith and generosity of kind people that believe in our mission.

Lifeboat's goal is to help families get back onto their feet who have fallen on hard times. While here, guests focus on employment and savings so that by the time they leave, they are self-sufficient. Lifeboat has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to drugs and criminal history, which keeps our families safe and successful. 

Volunteers can help the shelter in more than one way; the front desk is run by two volunteers at all times. We serve three meals a day and so if you would like to come by to prepare a meal we would appreciate it greatly! Finally, it costs a little over $200,000 a year to keep the shelter running. These costs include heat, water, electric, extra food, etc. We cover these costs through donations. Our goal for Go Fund Me is to spread the word about Lifeboat and raise 2.5% of our annual costs.
