"Play for All" Building Eastview's Playground
The Eastview PTA has been fundraising and planning to update our current outside playground to better meet the needs of the students of both the school and the community. Our current playground was built about 20 years ago, with the student population almost half of what it is currently. The goal of the update is to provide more play space for the children and to accommodate children with special needs. The current playground is ADA approved, but the activities for children who are wheelchair bound are limited. Adding more adaptable equipment to our playground will make it more fun and accessible for all.
This is a big project and therefore is not inexpensive. The PTA has been busy trying to raise funds through additional fundraisers, including our annual Carnival, as well as applying for grants to cover some of the costs. However, we need your help. Please consider making a donation to help us build a new and better playground that provides plenty of play space and fun, for all of Eastview students and our community. Donations will be used to expand the playground area, purchase the several new pieces of playground equipment, replace faded or chipped equipment , purchase stone base for poured rubber area, purchase concrete for new holes and help with cost of the excavation and community build. New playground equipment will include an infinity web climber (that allow for 25 kids to play on it at a time), a revolution spinner (wheelchair accessible), wobblespheres, slalom slide, colossus slide, and SEVERAL new climbers! See the pictures below of just some of the equipment that will be added!
We are hoping to install the playground before the start of the new school year therefore are hoping to raise our goal over the next couple of months.
Not only will every student at Eastview benefit from this new playground on a daily basis, but the surrounding Avon Lake community will also benefit.
