Air Race Classic 2016

Donation protected
The annual Women’s Air Race Classic is going to be taking place this year June 21st through June 24th.  The race started in 1929 with just twenty women pilots racing across the country.  Today, over 100 women can participate in the race.  The race is coordinated through the Air Race Classic, Inc. – a non-profit organization – that encourages and educates current and future women pilots while preserving and promoting the tradition of pioneering women in aviation.  The current race is about 2400 miles in length starting in Prescott, AZ and ending in Daytona, FL.  Contestants are given four days to reach the end flying only in day, VFR conditions (able to see the ground at all times).  Each plane is assigned a handicap speed and the goal is to beat that speed by achieving the fastest groundspeed possible.  Even the last person to reach the end could be the winner!

The reason why we are writing to you today is to ask for your help.  Jennifer is a recent aviation graduate from the University of North Dakota and Courtney will be graduating this May with an aviation degree as well.  Jennifer has participated in the race before with the collegiate team at University of North Dakota.  She would like to continue her participation in the race and Courtney has decided to join her to form a team.  Both would like to use this as an opportunity to gain relevant flight experience in a wide array of environments.  Our goal for this fundraiser is to raise $6000 which would cover the expenses of this endeavor (registration, fuel, hotel, food, etc.).

We thank you for your time and consideration today in helping us achieve our goals.
