Surgery for Skippy

Donation protected
Skippy is our little girl who is 10 years old. (shes on the right in the picture with her brother). She is the sweetest kitty you will ever meet, she comes running down the stairs meowing her pretty little head off every day when we get home from work. She sleeps on top of one of us every single night, and is extremely loving.

Recently she developed a large mass on her backside near her tail. The vet drained it to see if it would fill back up and it did less than a month later. The vet thinks it is most likely a type of cancer as these types of masses in cats her age are typically very rare to be non-cancerous. The vet says her best option is to remove it and see what kind of treatment (if any) she may need after that. Unfortunatley this surgery is very expensive. Not doing it is not an option because in our eyes our cats are not our pets, they are our family, our children.  We are willing to make whatever financial adjustments necessary in our lives to make this surgery possible, but if anyone is an animal lover the way we are and would like to donate even the smallest amount we would be extremely greatful. If there is anything we could ever do in return for anyone we would be willing! 100% of any money raised would go towards the surgery, the goal is the total cost of the surgery.
Please if you can, help us save our kitty. Life would not be the same without her.

The vet is Stratham-Newfields Veterinary Hospital, their address is 8 main street Newfields, NH 13856

*****update 4/6/15****
Skippy had her surgery and the vet said that the mass was larger and deeper than they had anticipated. It went deep into her hip bones and wrapped around some of the nerves and muscles. They removed as much as they could and are sending it out for testing. They are worried that if they did not get all of it and it is cancerous or something that HAS to be completely removed they may need to amputate her leg :(        They had to do a nerve block and additional culture testing so that raised the total of her surgery to about $2300. We are still hopeful that we will be able to save our little girl.
