Good afternoon friends and family members.

I am coming to you today with hope that you all can help me help my dad and finally say thank you to him for everything he has done for myself and my husband.

My dad, Richard, has been my lifesaver. He has helped me and my husband survive throughout this whole time after Randy's stroke.  Being disabled himself, there's only so much he can do.

As of September 15, Randy and I will be relocating from Arizona back to New Mexico, due to financial hardship, waiting on disability and just living a miserable existence trying to stay above water and failing at it.  We will be living with my dad.

Most of you that know my dad, will know that he would give the shirt off of his back, or his last can of food to you if you were hungry.

He and my mom did so much for the schools and the church, and I feel like they never got the proper recognition that they deserved for any of it.

If anyone has ever been to my dad's house (which is very few of you) you'll know that the condition it is in is deplorable, at best.

The house was built in the 40s, like most of the houses in Hurley, but no real updates have been done to it since they bought it in 1979ish.

He has no cieling panels, hasn't had any since at least 2006. There's no insulation to keep the house warm during the winter which is why you always see him in a robe covered in a blanket when he's at home during the winter.

Electrical is faulty, and original wiring. There's still a few leaks in the roof, but those will be taken care of as soon as we get there.  That roof leaked relentlessly. He paid someone to have a new roof put on and then had to pay someone else to fix it.  There's just a few holes left where the wind picked up the paper.

As it stands, the house is barely liveable for one person, much less the three of us that will be actually living there.

I'm trying to do this as a huge thank you to my dad for allowing my husband and I to move back in with him during this difficult journey we have been on since my husband's Stroke.  But we definitely can't do it alone.

If you could PLEASE keep this on the downlow from my dad for just a little while.  I want to be able to surprise him with some improvements on the house sooner than later.

It's about time my dad had a house he was comfortable living in.

Thank you!
