Pulling for Tyler

Donation protected
Tyler is a sweet boy who Loves hugs and Sponge Bob. He has autism and is mostly non-verbal, but he is still really good at making sure everyone is wrapped around his little finger. A few weeks ago, Tyler and his family had to face the scariest battle of his entire life. Here is what his mom has shared about it:
Hi All...Some of you are already aware of this, but, here goes...
Without going into gory, long-winded details, my little boy has been critically ill in the hospital since September 27th. He had been not feeling well for a little bit, and no one could really figure out why (for those unaware, he is autistic and mostly non-verbal). It got bad enough that on the night of the 26th, I called 911 and had him taken to the ER. After several blood tests and an initial tentative diagnosis of leukemia, he was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital, where it was determined that what he actually had was that awful, horror movie stuff that you see on the news - that flesh-eating bacteria that 'other people' get, the exceedingly rare infection that you always feel so bad about people dealing with. He not only had this crap, but he had it internally - all throughout his little body. They raced him into a 4 hour surgery, where they had to remove massive chunks of my baby, from both his outside and inside. They told me I came to within 24 hours of losing him.

So it's been the longest 3 weeks of my life, with probably another 3-4 weeks in the hospital and then months of recovery at home. He seems to be through the worst (life-threatening) part of this, now it's reconstruction and recuperation. He's in Children's Hospital in LA, so I know he's in the best of hands. That's about an 80 mile drive from our house, so we've been staying at the Ronald McDonald house, but we still take turns coming home every 2 or 3 days to care for my mom and our needy dog. Everyone has been amazing - friends, family, Tyler's teachers and classmates - and for those of you who've already been with us every step of the way, I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. For those of you to whom this is news, prayers are appreciated (or just happy thoughts, if you're not inclined towards praying). This has been devastating - physically, emotionally, financially - but we're doing our very best, and I just wanted to bring everyone up to speed. Every time someone says, "How's Tyler?", not aware of the situation, it gets a little harder to explain things one at a time, so I just decided to put this out there for those who are interested. Thanks for listening...anyone who'd like more info (yes, I'm aware I lied about not being long-winded, sue me)Love and hugs to everyone. ❤️

This sweet family needs all the help we can give them with love, prayer and financial support (for travel expenses, food, time off from work, etc).
