To ship shoes to those in need...

Meet Halina.  Halina is a smart, beautiful and loving 11 year old, living in the Bay Area.  For some reason, Halina has always had a philanthropic heart.  She feels that she has all she needs in life, even at age 11 and she wants to give.  Last year, she asked her mother if she could do something philanthropic for her birthday in-lieu of gifts.  She had heard about kids in other countries and our very own that are without the basic necessities of life.  She sent out her invites, asking her friends to bring gently worn or new shoes to donate to Soles4Souls.  In addition, she asked her teacher if she could set up a bin in the classroom; he agreed and embraced the idea.   She collected over 50 pairs of shoes to donate instead of receiving gifts!  

Fast forward, Halina is now in sixth grade and for her class project she has elected to once again collect shoes for Soles4Souls, however this time it's on a much grander scale.  The shoe drive will run an entire month and we expect to collect up to 600 pairs of shoes!  These shoes will be sent to kids in need, not just kids in third world countries, but kids in our own country.  

Shipping of shoes is very expensive and she can't afford to pay for this out of her own pocket.  We are asking for funds to pay for the shipping of the shoes to this organizations' headquarters in Tennesee.

In addition, we are seeking a permanent location in Northern California as a distribution center, as there is not one.  Halina would like to start the Northern California Chapter!  What an ambitious 11 year old!  So if you have a connection, please let us know!  

Shoes can be donated at Dartmouth Middle School in San Jose.   The project will be ongoing until the principal tells us to stop!  Thank you for your time and generous gift!
