E(ART)H Climate Change Awarness Art
Donation protected
My name is Jessie and I am an organizer with Forest City 350, the Rockford, IL chapter of 350.org, an international movement to address climate change. Community art has long been a part of the 350.org movement and the drive to confront the topic of climate change creatively and in a way that builds community is very important to our group.
Forest City 350 is sponsoring a visual and performance art show entitled, E(ART)H: Art for a Planet in Peril as part of Spring Art Scene 2015 on April 10 & 11 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Rockford. We have scheduled a wide variety of talented visual artists, musicians, poets, student performers and more to participate.
In addition, we will be making a community-collaborative art piece and planning a large-scale aerial photo around Earth Day of people coming together to send a message about the need to take care of Earth, our home.
We value all the musicians, poets and other performers who support the cause with their talents! Our organization has no budget to pay these performers, so we are asking for help. We can also use contributions to help us get the word out, hire a photographer, buy food for the show, etc.
Any extra funds acquired will be used for future creative events with Forest City 350.
We hope you will help us be part of the Great Turning! Visit our website for more information!
