Cancer Treatment for Snickers
Donation protected
Our daughter Kristina wanted a dog so bad, she studied really hard and aced a Japanese kanji test to get one.
We adopted our Rat Terrier Snickers two years ago, and he has enriched our lives every day. Last week, he was diagnosed with cancer: mast cell tumors on his flank, penis sheath and potentially the anal gland.
The canine oncologist recommends surgical removal of the tumors-- a difficult endeavor given the location--potentially followed by chemotherapy depending on the results of further analysis. We are also changing his diet, giving him Chinese herbs and consulting with a veterinary acupuncturist. The diagnostic stage has already cost $400, and the surgery estimate is $2200.
Wish we had bought pet insurance! The kids say they will cut back on some of their activities to help pay for it. That won't be necessary to make this surgery happen, but any help would be appreciated!
