Caring for Kaela

Hello, my name is Kaela Ranae Gaulden and I am currently 16 years old. I got diagnosed when I was 6 years old with a rare type of bone cancer called "Ewings Sarcoma" in my right leg and after 3 years of fighting, I became in remission when I was 9 years old. But it didn't end there, even after my cancer treatment I still had continuous troubles with my leg and when I was 13 years old I made the decision to have my leg amputated. Yes, I was terrified, but to this day I still believe it was the best decision I could have made for myself. I can now live my life without fear of hurting my leg or being held back anymore. Even after the amputation, I’ve had 2 more surgeries on my other knee for reconstruction since then. Also, I still have to go to Albuquerque for doctors appointments and check ups about once a month

I am a junior in high school and I attend the Middle College High School program at the UNM branch in Gallup, NM. In this program you get to take your high school classes along with college courses. When you graduate with your HS diploma, you can also graduate with your associates degree.

Also my mom, Tanya Abeyta, works very hard everyday to try and support me and my little sister, Angel Abeyta. But despite everything else, I truly believe that I wouldn't be here today without my family's love and support, but most importantly God's, and as well as everyone else's.

I made this go-fund-me page to help with medical expenses, car payments, Anything you would be willing to donate is greatly appreciated, and will not be taken for granted. With medical expenses, my sister being in a private school, being in college, house and car payments, and with the holidays coming around, money can usually be very hard to come by. This is why I made this go-fund-me account, so I could help raise some support for not only myself, but for my family.
