Kims Surgery and Medical Costs

On March 7, 2015 our beloved pet pig Kim went into what we were anticipating to be a routine visit at our local vet for the trimming of his hooves and tusks, as well as a rabies vaccination. He was given a mixture of sedatives and anesthesias that are not recommended for Kim's breed(Miniature Vietnamese Pot Belly). During this encounter, Kim received many superficial wounds and bruises, as well as mental trauma that was caused by being in a state of fear and confusion, due to the hallucinating effects of the drugs used for his procedure. After several conflicting recommendations by our local vets, we reached out to the great staff at Tufts Large Animal Hospital in Grafton, MA. After CT scanning and Radiography, we were told Kim has sustained two fractured elbows. This has left Kim lame and immobile since March 7th. Through teamwork and collaboration, the Drs at Tufts see this as being a repairable yet costly procedure. He will be receiving surgery for these injuries on April 9, 2015.
