Race Against Cancer

Donation protected
My mother and I live over 2,000 miles apart.  It makes things like birthdays and holidays difficult to celebrate.  But this last August, we discovered that we had a new, more challenging hurdle to overcome: she was diagnosed with lung cancer and I was nowhere nearby to help.  I went home to Wisconsin for about a week to help her with her first chemo treatment, clean the house, buy some meds, and generally keep her company.  But that was it.  It was really, really hard to return to my \"normal life\" back in California after that.

Just recently, she completed her last chemo treatment back in Wisconsin.  In the meantime, I signed up for the Big Sur Mud Run here in California.  While I\'m fighting to do pull-ups and run hills, she is battling doctors\' appointments and enormous medical bills.  It\'s not quite a fair battle, so now I\'m upping the ante: I have made a goal to raise $6,500 by March 26th.  This money will go both to her huge medical bills and to the American Cancer Society.  (Ninety percent to directly to the hospitals and insurance and ten percent directly to the American Cancer Society).

If you can help, even in the least bit, please do so.  When I am running on March 26th, I will not only be running for myself, but for my mom, for the fight against cancer, and for all the people who have donated.

Thank you so, so much!
