Racing Class in High School Funding
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Jarrett Davidson and I am a teacher at Thorp High School. I have a class that is titled "Math in Racing and Mechanics" that will be in its first year. The general idea of the course is that in the first semester of the course we will build a simulator and a computer, and look at the physics and math behind how the car moves on the virtual track (by using iRacing). In the second semester, we will purchase a race car, tear it apart, and then put it back together, using the setups that we have found to work well. This will be a multidisciplinary course that will be co-taught. My superintendent has talked with me about the class and said that if I can raise $5,000 in pledges, they will kick back $5,000 to help the class run. The top end of our budget is around $22,000, but I can make the class run with the bare minimums for around $12,000. Any sort of donation will be greatly appreciated, and we will make sure your name makes it on the car and will be shared with you on facebook, or email. I need to get the funds in by the end of May, but I'm confident we can reach that goal! If you have any people that you know to contact in the Wisconsin area as well, feel free to contact me! If you have anything else you would like to donate (racing related) let me know and we'll work with you! Thanks for reading! The two pictures below are our shop, which has a lift and a paint booth in it already!
