Assalamu Alaikum,
Get maximum sadaqah jaariyah (continuous rewards) during the last 10 days of Ramadan only inshaAllah!
This is the Durbah's (New Jersey Student Muslims) third year we're combining the maximum rewards of the last 10 days of Ramadan, with Sadaqah Jaariyah alhumdulillah!
Ramadan Years 1 & 2 - When we first started, we built 1 water well our first year serving 3000 people through Islamic Releif (we later built 3 water wells after Ramadan).
And.. raised enough to build 3 fully functional masajid in Africa with Zakat Foundation serving 6550 people - numbers confirmed with Zakat Foundation!
Based on a survey we did, our goal this year is to combine both international and local causes.
These last 10 days of Ramadan Only, we want to..
1. Build 16 water wells (getting clean water to between 8000-32000 people)
2. and inshaAllah serve ~46,920 meals to the homeless and very needy in New Jersey
Ramadan Year 3 - This year we put it to a vote & partnered with Qabeelahs Madinatayn & Nurayn!
If we reach out goal...
theBBNJ: ~46,920 meals will be served to the homeless and very needy (even after bank transaction fees) in New Jersey. The BBNJ is a muslim organization, and will be serving meals every night for almost a year and a half if we hit our goal!
Imagine if even one non-muslim embraces Islam by the food and charity they receive, you get those rewards inshaAllah!
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: "Feed the hungry, visit the sick and set free the captives." - Sahih Al-Bukhari
The Zakat Foundation: 16 water wells will be built to serve clean water to between 8,000-32,000 people!
Imagine, for every sip of clean water someone drinks, you get a good deed, and then for the next sip, sins burn off of you!
A prostitute was forgiven for giving water to a Dog!
Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “A prostitute saw a dog lolling around a well on a hot day and hanging his tongue from thirst. She drew some water for it in her shoe, so Allah forgave her.”
Source: Sahih Muslim 2245
If that's for a dog, then Imagine the rewards you get and the sins you lose by giving drinks to human beings and muslims than!
2. According to the votes - our ultimate Goal will be to raise $90,000!
We have 4 levels of goals here inshaAllah:
Bronze - $27,000 (how much we raised last year)
Silver - $50,000
Gold - $70,000
Platinum Goal - $90,000
YES, these causes are eligible for Zakat, but you need to factor in transaction fees, or send a check to avoid fees - go to the bottom for more details and options to avoid fees - and please specify if your donation is for Zakat in the comments box.
Where is the Money Going For BBNJ and the Homeless?
Allah swt says in the Holy Quran: "The righteous are those who feed the poor, the orphan, and the captibe for the love of Allah, satubg: 'We feed you for the sake of Allah, we seek from you neither reward nor thanks.' "76:8-9
What we need:
1.) 600 lbs of rice
2.) 72 boxes of Spaghetti
3.) 150 lbs of beans
4.) 750 lbs of chicken
5.) 50 cases of water
6.) 35 lbs of oil
7.) 25 lbs of vegetables
8.) 8 lbs of mozzarella shredded cheese
This comes to roughly $2400 to feed over 100 people every night for a month.
If you do the math, that's roughly $0.80 a meal.
Your key to entering Paradise.....
These were his first words which he uttered upon his arrival to Madinah. Imam al-Tirmidhi reported that the Prophet said:
"O people! Spread the greeting of peace, feed (the poor and needy), behave kindly to your relatives, offer prayer when others are asleep, and (thus) enter Paradise in peace."
Imagine if even one non-muslim embraces Islam by the charity they receive, you get those rewards inshaAllah!
Please donate generously. Feel free to ask questions or share your comments. You can donate online, in person, or via check.
Where's the money for the water wells going?
Alhumdulillah, throughout the years, we've worked with Zakat Foundation to built a bunch of wells!
Each well costs $2500 (after fees) and benefits between [phone redacted] people, and can last 5-20 years.
You get reward for...
Every single day, the people will use this water for wudu, for eating, cooking, washing, drinking, and cleaning.
Every single step you saved someone from walking inshaallah you get the reward and allah will ease you
[right now some young girls have to miss school and walk miles to get dirty water]
Every single life you save from drinking dirty water, it is as if you saved the world -
Diseases from unsafe water and lack of sanitation facilities kill more people each year than violence, including war.
– United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon
Now multiply that because at least 500 people will benefit from this well - EVERY SINGLE DAY!
Just imagine being in your grave...
and you are rising in levels upon levels because of this well you built!!
Wells usually do not last forever (5-20 years) although their construction might last for a very long time.
The majority of the over 1 billion people who suffer from not having access to clean water are in Muslim countries.
Where are the wells built?
These wells can be built in rural villages, to benefit farming families living in villages. The targeted villages have severe problems in accessing clean potable water, which has causes people (mostly women and children) to have to travel long distances to collect clean or somewhat clean water.
These Zakat Foundation's criteria in identifying communities that need a water well
1.) Areas with little or no water wells
2.) Areas where human rights violations have taken place when people are forced to travel for water due to the lack of wells
3.) Areas with land available to construct water wells
4.) Areas with the highest percentage of vulnerable people (very poor, elderly, disabled, women-headed households, orphans, etc.)
5.) Areas where the community shows a willingness to sustain the project after completion - so inshaAllah the well will last for a very long time and benefit for many years to come!
