Whether as a sponsor to Honduran immigrants looking for a fresh start and new life in America, or as a foster mother who willingly offered her home as a refuge to children whose circumstances suggested a life full of despair or as a home aide whose devotion to her work inspired many; my mother Mrs. RAYMUNDA COLON (a.k.a. "Reina" or "Gringa"), was a humble Garifuna woman from Plaplaya, Honduras whose giving, selfless nature impacted the lives of many.

On Sunday, July 19th 2015, God took her back into his loving arms after she fell victim to an apparent heart attack.  As people begin to hear about Raymunda Colon's (maiden name: Raymunda Alvarez Casildo) passing, the Colon Family started this GoFundMe page as an option for those who are interested in helping with funeral expenses for Mrs Raymunda Colon.  My mother did not have Life Insurance and due to several recent devastating personal setbacks within the family, our Financial strain is at its breaking point and it will be a considerable challenge to pay for a modest funeral for our mother.   If you are able, please consider giving a donation for my mother's funeral.  The Colon Family will be most appreciative in our time of mourning.
