The Reagan Travel Program is back at it! 35 brilliant students from Ronald ReaganHigh School are raising funds to take an exploratory excursion to Costa Rica and Nicaragua in the summer of 2018.
Last year, 35 students traveled to the Galapagos through generous donations and months of fundraising. See the video above to visualize the impact of donating to the Travel Program. Now it is time for 35 new students to journey on a learning adventure! For many of the students, this will be their first time leaving the country and even Wisconsin.
On this trip, students will conduct independet research projects on a topic of their choice. The only catch: Their research question needs to be a question that they cannot answer without travling to Central America to collect their data.
These 35 explorers are driven to not only immerse themselves in the natural and cultural wonders of Central America, but also to use ever moment as a learning experience to ultimately better themselves and the world around them.
Reagan students are resilient: 67% of students comes from a home that falls below the poverty line, and 80% qualify for free and reduced lunches at the school. The students and their families cannot afford to pay for this trip on their own.
Any donation is greatly appreciated. Funds will go toward transport to the airport and will also go directly into students payment accounts, which pay for accomodations, transport, meals, and learning excursions on the trip.
