Save Orange Tea School

Donation protected
Early Friday morning, on the 10th of July, Teacher Kerry and her family woke up to a wall of flames engulfing the back of Fremont’s Orange Tea School (see video coverage here): http://m.kirotv.com/videos/news/video-transient-may-have-started-fire-at-fremont/vDW9N8/

Thankfully, all of the humans and the kitties made it out safely. But the back deck and staircase were completely destroyed, the northwest corner of their playroom was burned, and the school and their home suffered extensive smoke damage. The AMAZING Seattle Fire Department arrived in time to save their beautiful space from irreparable structural damage, but there is much that needs to be done before the kiddos can return to school and Kerry and her family can return home.

Insurance will pay for the rebuild and will help cover some of the smoke damage restoration for their personal property and the school's supplies, but funds are needed to secure an interim place for the school's summer program, and to support the family and their needs in the immediate term. Any funds raised beyond what is needed to continue the summer program will be put toward expediting everything that needs to be done before September, when the 2015 school year starts and Teacher Kerry's new baby arrives.

We love our Fremont community and look forward to rebuilding our school more beautiful and magical than ever. Thank you for your support, our sincere gratitude to all!
