Help Rebuild SSU's Marching Band
Don protégé
The Iota Zeta Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority and the Lambda Upsilon chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity of Savannah State University are reaching out to you all in hopes of some much needed assistance.
On October 14, 2015 at 1 a.m. a tragic event occurred-- our band room was set a blaze from causes that are still unknown. In the aftermath, nearly all instruments were melted, many uniforms were burned, and many supplies are completely gone. As such, we no longer have a facility to come together and practice in.
This weekend also happens to be our Homecoming. While our sanctuary of music is destroyed, our spirits are not! We WILL perform this Saturday!
It is our mission to play this weekend with pride for our SSU Tiger family and community; and with the generosity of people like you, we can make this happen.
We are asking that you search your heart and if you find it within to contribute to our cause, please make a monetary donation to help rebuild our band--- and we would be forever GREATful to you.
Every amount will be greatly appreciated and useful, no matter how big or small.
If you are not able to give financially, we are also accepting all band-related supplies: instruments, mouth pieces, spats, gloves, reeds, auxiliary equipment, etc.
Lastly, it is our dream to perform at the biggest marching band showcase in the world, Honda Battle of the Bands. We have been working diligently to ready ourselves, physically, musically and spiritually. With your daily votes (6 times a day per person) until Oct. 23rd, we can continue to march down this road to greatness and represent our talents and Tiger family on a national scale.
Thank you for your prayers and inspirational words, as we make the biggest come back the marching band world has ever seen!!!
