Created by Grace, Sarah, Maeve, and Maddie.

Our project, The Red Bag Project, started when I, Grace, noticed how many homeless people there were and I decided to do something about it. So, I got together with some of my friends, Sarah, Maeve, and Maddie, and we decided to do a bake sale to raise money to hand out care packages on Christmas Day to the homeless. Last year, 2014, we raised $214 and we were so thankful to everyone that came and donated! We were able to make 24 care packages and at first we had trouble finding people. Then, we found a street where there were at least one hundred homeless people together almost as if they were a family. They started lining up at our cars' windows and we quickly ran out. We felt awful but we hoped they would share what they had in their red bags with the others. We decided to make the bake sales a semi-annual thing and make it tradition to hand out the care packages on Christmas Day. This year, we are hoping to make 100 care packages. Each care package would have the following items:

Red Bag : $0.50

Granola Bars : $0.20

Socks : $1.00

Tissues : $0.35

Dental Supplies : $1.00

Antibacterial Wipes : $1.00

Band-Aids : $1.00

Gum : $0.25

Chapstick : $0.50

Bottled Water : $0.25

Subway Turkey Sandwich : $6.00

Chocolate : $0.25

McDonalds Gift Card : $10.00

We would like to thank everyone that donates!
