Relocate Veteran Family
Donation protected
This is my friend Paul New. I am a former soldier of his, friend, and godfather to his son. He and his wife are both Army veterans that i deployed with. After deploying in 2011-2012, both Paul and his wife were diagnosed with PTSD. Paul's struggles with the illness affect him a little more than his wife. With the help of the VA, and multiple medications, he is able to cope with the issues he faces. The mental issues that came with the PTSD almost cost him his marriage. In May of 2014, he was involuntarily released from his active duty position. The struggle to find a job in the civilian world caused he and his family to lose their home, and move in with his wife's parents basement. In January of 2015, he suffered a mini stroke which caused more financial hardships for he and his family. To better himself and his family's situation, he applied to the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine's Acupuncture program in Portland, Oregon. He was accepted to this program to start in the fall of 2015. He is planning to help treat other veterans, wounded warriors, police officers, firefighters, who struggle with PTSD along with helping anyone and everyone he can after graduting. Having been out of work since December of 2014, diligently trying to find a job, he and his wife have struggled financially to pay the bills, take care of their 3 children, and pay the medical bills from his stroke. They sold everything they had personally including his wife's wedding ring to survive. I am trying to raise money for my friend, to help him move from Missouri to Oregon so that he can go to school and provide for his family.
To make matters more complicated, Friday May 15, 2015. His wife's parents lost their house to foreclosure. Now these two veterans and their family will be homeless in the next couple of weeks. If anyone out there would like to help this veteran and his family, they would Greatly appreciate it. I know I can speak for him to say, on behalf of his family, thank you for your support and consideration.
