Regional Autism Expo Australia

We are Gemma and Liz, two mothers in the South West of Australia. In March 2015 our two beautiful little boys, Peter and Micah, were diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder - level 3 severity. This was the beginning of two friends' journey into the incredible ASD community. We cofounded RAIN - the Regional Autism Intervention Network. As RAIN we support and advocate for families living with ASD along with raising awareness and sharing knowledge in the education community. We work hard to give our boys, Peter and Micah, the best opportunities possible for their future.
In April 2016 we organised the first ever Regional Autism Expo in Australia - free for all who attended. The Expo was a huge success. People with Autism, families, service providers and community members came together to connect and support the ASD community. Over 25 stall holders and 300 people came to the Expo
- exceeding expectations.
We are now looking to raise money to hold the biggest Regional Autism Expo in Australia on the 1st April 2017. We have secured a larger more Autism friendly venue, over $8000 of media sponsorship , support from service providers, members of the Autism community and national researchers and academics. This year's RAIN Expo has the possiblity of hosting 100 stalls, featuring guest speakers and a breakout sensory friendly zone. All for free.
We now need your support to help us fund this. We need support to cover the costs of the venue, hire and set up of stalls and printing of programs. All funds go directly into the Expo; our time organising and coordinating the Expo is completely voluntary. We need to raise the funds by the end of January to be able to secure the event.
To have your support for the RAIN Autism Expo to go ahead on 1st April 2017, World Autism Awareness Day, would be an amazing achievement. We believe that connecting families, people with Autism, service providers, agencies and the community with help us build the best place for our children, Peter and Micah, to grow up in.
Please support us and support our Autism community.
