Releasing Ministry Alliance Startup
What is Releasing Ministry Alliance?
Releasing Ministry Alliance will offer an on-line platform to publicize Spirit-led services (ministries) and provide channels for various types of support for participating ministries.
Releasing Ministry Alliance will connect people or groups who:
- offer Spirit-led services;
- seek those services;
- contribute funds; and
- support ministries in other ways, such as prayer.
A short video chat about the reasons for and operation of ReleasingMinistry.org is available here.
More detailed information is available at ReleasingMinistry.org , the web-site under development.
And a Friends Journal article on the project is available here.
Who is involved now?
Various Quaker faith communities have offered statements of support for Releasing Ministry Alliance.
Releasing Ministry Alliance intends to initially serve members of the various branches of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). Service will branch out to others, as and when rightly-ordered.
Central Philadelphia Monthly Meeting, which offers spiritual and fiscal care to this ministry, is a congregation of the regional religious body of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends.
Releasing Ministry Alliance's founders, Viv Hawkins and Vonn New, are recognized with minutes of religious service and are held accountable by their Quaker faith communities, Central Philadelphia and Bullshead, respectively. Further information about the LifeCalls ministry of Viv Hawkins can be referenced here.
Grants from the Lyman Fund supplement this crowdfunding campaign.
How much is needed for what?
This campaign will raise $16,000 to establish the web services and organizational infrastructure to support operations of Releasing Ministry Alliance.
Tax-deductible contributions can be made by check payable to Central Philadelphia Monthly Meeting, 1515 Cherry St, Philadelphia, PA 19102; please note LifeCalls- Releasing Ministry Alliance in the memo line. No administrative fees are charged this way.
