Animals are often just as helpless as children when it comes to house fires.  Often times they are unable to get to safety on their own.  Many times this can lead to the loss of a family pet. When firefighters are able to rescue an animal from this horrible and dangerous situation  many times  the animals are severely injured and barely breathing. If the fire house is not supplied with the proper medical equipment needed to save this animals life , a family pet is often lost.  As a pre-veterinary student I see the need for all firehouses, especially in my home state of New Jersey, to be properly equipped with the necessary supplies to save the lives of every "family member".  My purpose for creating this campaign is not only to raise awareness of how many four legged family members lives are lost in fires , but to also raise the necessary funds to be able to supply all of the 134 fire houses in New Jersey with complete animal resuscitation kits to help to save the lives of all pets. Many firehouses in our state are volunteer run and do not have the additional funds to purchase these kits as part of their emergency gear.  All of your donations will go directly to the purchase and distribution of the 134 animal resuscitation kits. Every donation large or small is greatly appreciated by us and by all of the families whose pets you helped to save.
