Updated: December 30th, 2017:

Sad to announce Robert was rushed to the Coral Springs Hospital Emergency Room and is having Kidney Surgery this morning in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  This is his 3rd surgery in 12 months and 7th surgery since July 2014.  He is scheduled to have a follow-up Cystoscopy in January to remove the Stent the surgeon will need to implant inside of him.  His family URGENTLY needs your support.

Original Post: September 8th, 2017: Robert Faces 6th Surgery since 2014: Hyperparathyroidism Diagnosis-

2 Cancerous Tumors must be removed and treatments/follow-up medical care based on pathological reports if malignant or benign.

Unfortunately
dealing with another surgery is the reality for Robert's wife and his two daughters.
Here are the surgeries he's had to endure:
Kidney Surgery in July 2014 & again in August 2014.
Spinal Fusion Surgery in December 2014
Colonoscopy in June 2015
Emergency Gallbladder Removal and treatment for jaundice in December 2016
Parathyroid Cancer Tumors(2) to be removed in
September 2017 due to Hyperparathyroidism
Kidney Surgery-December 2017
Cystoscopy-January 2018

It seems like it will never end.

Hyperparathyroidism
is an excess of parathyroid hormone in the bloodstream due to overactivity of one or more of the body's four parathyroid glands.
These glands are about the size of a grain of rice and are located in your neck.  The parathyroid glands produce parathyroid hormone, which helps maintain an appropriate balance of calcium in the bloodstream and in tissues that depend on calcium for proper functioning.

In Primary Hyperparathyroidism,
an enlargement of one or more of the parathyroid glands causes overproduction of the hormone, resulting in high levels of calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia), which can cause a variety of health problems. For Robert this has caused 4 broken teeth, diagnoses of PTSD, Anxiety, Severe Depression, several bouts with Kidney Stones, Spinal Fusion Surgery, and Gallbladder Removal Surgery.

Surgery is the most common treatment for primary hyperparathyroidism.  More information can be found at: Mayo Clinic-Hyperparathyroidism

OUR GOAL of our FUNDRAISER IS TO:

-Pay off medical debt from Robert’s surgical treatments

-Make sure Robert’s post-operative medical care and follow-up treatments are paid in full.

-Most importantly bring awareness to the public about Hyperparathyroidism, the importance of annual well-care doctor appointments and knowing what your results are.  The doctor in 2017 told Robert that his blood work had abnormalities in 2016 too. When he signed up with the Florida Hospital Network, he discovered his Calcium & PTH counts were abnormal since 2014 and he's been battling Kindey Stones since 2006 that he can remember. Most people do not live more than 15-20 years because the calcium can build in the blood vessels and eventually will lead to cardiac arrest and death.
