Robotics Competition in Australia

We are a Virginia FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Team. Our team, L.E.D. Empire, Team 6027 is made up of 4 middle school students and one coach.  Graciously our team was personally invited to compete in Australia for their 3 day Asia Pacific International Robotics Competition.

The trip to Australia will be a fantastic learning experience. From exposure to the Australian culture, teams from other Asian countries, and robots from around the world;  we will be given a chance of a lifetime. 
The funds of $12,000 will cover the following expenses for 7 days in Australia for 4 people:

Airfare $2000 per person 
Hotel $500 per person
Competition fee $136 per person 
Transportation $20 per day or $140 per person 
Food $ 25 per day or $175 
Field Trips  $50 per person 


If 1,200 people each donated $10 we'd reach our goal.

Or do both.  In the event that we do not reach our goal; the funds will be used to cover the costs of continuing robotic seasons such as registration fees, motors, c-channels, and batteries. But we'd much rather go to Australia.
