Being a parent is a great responsibility.  Parents want  to make sure you give your children everything to be successful and to live a long and healthy life. Never would you want anything to happen to cut that life short. On my birthday, while at dinner with my husband, I receive confirmation that my Son is not well.  He has cancer on his vocal cord.  He has two choices, maybe three, 1) Surgery - resulting in a voice box, 2) radiation and chemotherapy to shrink it and hopefully make it go away , and 3)  perhaps - a voice box transplant. With radiation, he can not have any disease in his body, or it will cause infection that will never heal.  He can not even have a cavity or gum disease.  We can deal with pulling teeth, or treating gum disease if needed. However there is something that is more critical than possible dental challenges, we have found that other test are showing that his liver is distressed as well. If the liver is infected, then possibly radiation may still not be possible.  He has insurance,  but it only will cover 80% leaving 20% for them to fund.  The bad part is many care providers will not treat you without the 20% up front.  To give you an idea of how expensive his health care is, it is costing him $2200 just to get the biopsy.  This is not for any treatment.

This is very difficult for me in many ways to ask for help with his medical bills. However I will not allow pride to stand in my way to ask for help to save the life of my Son. Without treatment he will surely not live, and if he does it would not be a good quality of life.

I have over 1500 friends on Face book, from which over 600 thought enough of me to wish me a happy birthday. I hope you can make this birthday year the best I will ever have by helping me fund the fight against my Son's cancer by donating $10.00 or more to this GoFundMe campaign.
