Root Canal Safety Website

Rootcanalsafety.org  is an online database tool that will be used as a central location to collect and organize cases of health problems that improved or resolved upon proper extraction of root canal treated teeth. Detailed cases will be submitted by physicians, dentists and patients. While the American Association of Endodontists and the American Dental Association assert that the root canal procedure is safe and results in the sterilization of root canal treated teeth, patient and doctor accounts to the contrary prove otherwise, and root canal treated teeth continue to be linked with chronic systemic and degenerative illnesses. Given the lack of large-scale, controlled laboratory studies on the saftey of the root canal procedure in recent decades, rootcanalsafety.org came to be as a means to collect patient and doctor accounts of resolution and improvement of systemic health problems after the removal of root canal treated teeth. Having one central database of case studies will prove to be a valuable tool in doctor and patient education and public awareness of the issues surrounding the safety of root canals.

Rootcanalsafety.org is a data collection, education and public awareness website. It will not be used to sell or promote products. The data collected will be compiled and made available for educational and public awareness purposes.

Funds raised through the Go Fund Me campaign will be used for:

- Website design
- Database design and creation
- Data analysis and reporting
- Legal fees for the writing of privacy and website usage agreements
- Promotional campaigns to create awareness of the online tool for submissions of patient cases by doctors, dentists and patients
- Website maintenance and hosting fees
- Creation and execution of a public awareness campaign regarding root canal safety

We are hoping to raise $30,000 for the website creation, and, more importantly to create awareness of the tool amongst health care professionals and patients.
