Firstly I would like to introduce myself, my name is Ryan Millier, I am 30 years old, originally from Maffra and currently live in Pakenham, Victoria, Australia.
I have been asked to drive the #74 Jamec Pem Racing Audi R8 with the very experienced Christopher Mies for the remainder of the Australian GT Series at Sydney Motorsport Park - NSW, Sandown Raceway - Victoria and Highlands Motorsport Park - New Zealand. The team’s aim is get the 2015 Australian GT championship title.
We completed the last round together at Sydney Motorsport Park where after Qualifying 2nd we won the first hour long race and I was lucky enough to be the one who got to cross the finish line. It was my first ever win in the series and a day I won’t soon forget. The following day in Race 2 we managed to finish 4th after the unfortunate timing of a safety car period which didn’t help our strategy. Christopher Mies did an amazing job to finish as high as we did and in doing so we gained enough points to win the round. It was a fantastic weekend and I am very excited to compete at the next round at Sandown Raceway, Victoria on Sept 11-13.
As part of this exciting opportunity it is up to me to pay for my own travel arrangements and also put money towards the running costs of the car. I am currently searching for sponsorship from companies/businesses but time is getting away from me and I have had little to no luck at the moment. As you can imagine running a car of this calibre is not cheap. Along with the team’s costs I also have to pay for flights, airport parking, hire car, accommodation, food & fuel just to name a few. Those costs quickly add up over 3 rounds, especially when the last round of the Championship is held at Highlands Motorsport Park, New Zealand. We are putting in a lot of our own money, but with a young family there isn’t too much laying around.
Which brings me to why I have started this page.
I am looking for donations to help me with my racing expenses. No amount is too small; every little bit will help me on my journey. We have a target of $40,000, which will cover the expenses over the 3 rounds.
