Last year, Cherylann Hawk started playing for cancer patients in Pittsburgh, PA as part of the "Music Smiles" program. The photo on this page was taken at Forbes Hospital where she has uplifted cancer patients as they received their chemo treatments, and the video is the music she made to open the annual fundraising event for the program, "Rhythms of Life". Now, she is a cancer patient herself.  On March 23rd, she was told that she has a very rare MALT lymphoma in her uterus. She will be having surgery on April 22nd to remove it. Her recovery time will be 4-6 weeks after a hysterectomy and umbilical hernia repair.

During this time, she will not be able to drive for Uber and Lyft, which she loves because she sings to the world, one trip at a time, giving people the mama treatment with water, treats, and whatever music fits the mood. While she is recovering, she plans on focusing on figuring out ways to finally spread her healing music around the world to make a living as a single mom of her 4 year old son Little Hawk and 11 year old daughter Cheyenne. 

Those of you who know her well know the complications of their family life... Cherylann is truly blessed to have a big beautiful extended family and circle of friends that help guide and nurture these and the other children who call her Mama. Those of you who know her well know that her songs are good medicine and inspiration for them and for everyone who listens.

Cherylann has medical insurance to cover the medical costs (unless she needs more treatment than surgery... if necessary, she will be indulging in alternative treatment options, which are not covered by insurance), but she was already feeling the economical crunch of life before she was diagnosed with cancer. She has no savings to utilize to pay her monthly bills of $2000 while taking time off from driving and playing to recover.
 When she does return to work, she has estimates of $2000 worth of maintainance and repairs to tend to ASAP on her van after already maxing out her credit cards that she just obtained in December to repair and fuel her "limo-van" that many passengers have called their "best Uber ever".
