Conquer Cancer with Courtney

Courtney Druce is an amazing young woman who has already overcome cancer four times over the past 10 years. She has been diagnosed with Leukemia three times: at the ages of 15, 18 and 20.  She has undergone chemo, two heart failures, two bone marrow transplants and lost her hair several times. Then, at age 25, she was diagnosed with a rare form of cervical cancer. Throughout all of this, she has remained amazingly strong and optimistic. She has shared many intimate details of her journey on her blog, Sassy Blonde, Cancer Be Gone . She never loses her beautiful smile, bubbly personality or her incredible strength. Courtney overcame cervical cancer with the same fighting spirit that she had beaten leukemia with, but in February 2015, she was admitted to the hospital in terrible pain. The doctors found a benign mass in her pelvis, blocking her kidney, and in the past two months she has undergone multiple surgeries and treatments to bring her back to health. She has not left the hospital in this time, and must remain sedated most of the time to cope with the pain she is enduring.

 

We want to assist Courtney in any way we can. She has student loans, medical expenses and other bills piling up and, given this latest health challenge, she is unable to work. She is fortunate to hold a dual citizenship in both Canada and the United States, but her car is no longer reliable. Our goal is to relieve Courtney of the stress of worrying about these mounting expenses by raising funds to help support her until she is back in good health again.
