"Salmon farms exposed" commercial
Hello, my name is Angela and I'd like to thank you for taking the time to read my unique idea for a commercial.
The plan is to expose salmon farms through a short one minute video ad that many people have said is highly memorable, very funny and sexy enough to want to share with family and friends on social media and you tube. Some have even suggested it's good enough to go viral...
Through humor, the commercial will entice people to a website where they can learn about the unhealthy and ecological reasons not to eat farmed salmon, and once most people find out about it, they don't want their family or friends eating it either, especially young girls and pregnant women and that's the goal!
There aren't any spoken words in this video, only written ones at the end, and since these can be changed to any language in the world, this anti open pen, salmon farming commercial can be viewed anywhere and everywhere with full understanding!
So I'll get right to it and give you the script storyline...if it passes the test and you think it would be a good enough video to share with others, then please consider donating so we can make it happen...
Imagine if you will....a Hollywood glam type of cocktail/dinner party...men in tuxedos, women in fancy dresses...waiters with trays of champagne...sumptuous buffet tables laden with food and flowers, glasses tinkling...peoples voices and music in the background...
In walks a beautiful women in a long evening gown....she sees a handsome man standing across the room at a buffet table and they give each other a smile and a nod/wave hello...at that moment, a waiter appears from the side and offers her a drink from his tray...as she turns to get the drink, she happens to look out the window and catches sight of a white van driving away from the event, but not before she sees a fancy "farmed salmon" logo on it....in surprise she makes a scoobydoo type of "hhuuhhhh?" sound.
You can tell she's puzzled as to why there's any toxic farmed salmon at this party in the first place...that's when she see's her friend across the room and he's just picked up a salmon hors doevre, and she goes ballistic!...She squeals a loud aahhhh in shock...
Knocking back her drink in one gulp and quickly placing the glass back on the tray, she hikes up her dress and starts doing summersaults and cartwheels over people and tables to get to him....
the camera pans back and forth between the man with the toxic salmon appetizer as it's slowly coming up to his mouth, and the woman flying through the air, getting closer and closer to him...
Just as Mr Unaware is about to put the crappy cracker to his mouth she reaches him and scissor locks him around his waist with her legs....the next scene is of both of them locked together, slow motion, flying through the air...his coattails and her long hair and gown flowing behind them... they do a bouncy land on a plush sofa full of cushions, that luckily has no guests on it at the time....
The next scene shows them from the front, she's straddled on top of him, bosoms heaving, breathing heavily from her little workout, while he's in stunned shock but still holding onto the appetizer...she gives him an "OMG, you have no idea" look as she grabs it from his hand and we hear a fast whipping sound as she throws it out the window...then words will appear on the bottom third of the screen that simply say..."Friends don't let friends eat farmed salmon"....this stays on the screen while the camera goes back to him looking up at her and smiling, then giving her a raised eyebrow while doing a growly little hhmmm sound...then the camera fades to black and words appear that say..."They can tell you the oohs and aahs, but we can show you the ewwws and ugghs"
"What you and your family should know about farmed salmon!"..and those words will slowly disappear and a link to an informational salmon website will appear...
If the storyline made you laugh and made you think, then consider it would do the same for your friends, and that's what it's all about...
So why am I doing this?
A few years ago I moved to Quadra, a peaceful, remote little island in beautiful British Columbia, Canada.
When I first came here a few years ago I thought of Quadra as a paradise, but soon discovered it has a dark little secret. I learned the islands waters are surrounded by Norwegian owned salmon farms, and not just here... the industry has been quietly infesting the rest of the BC coast as well as spreading their filth and diseases around the world in Norway, Scotland, Chile and Eastern Canada too.
Although I knew nothing much about farmed salmon when I moved here, I can now say with certainty, the industry is so dirty and insidious that no matter what part of the country we live in, salmon farms affect all of us, and according to many scientists and doctors, it especially effects pregnant women and children! In my opinion that's very wrong and it's one of the BIG reasons as to why I'm so passionate about this!
According to Dr. Monsen
"I do not recommend pregnant women, children or young people eat farmed salmon. It is uncertain in both the amount of toxins salmon contain, and how these drugs affect children, adolescents and pregnant women... The type of contaminants that have been detected in farmed salmon have a negative effect on brain development and is associated with autism, ADD / ADHD and reduced IQ. We also know that they can affect other organ systems in the body's immune system and metabolism."
More on that here...http://articles. mercola.com/sites/articles/ archive/2013/07/09/farmed- salmon-dangers.aspx
Naturally, through slick advertising targeting pregnant women and children, the salmon farming industry likes to downplay any damning reports about the toxins in their fish and how those can affect human health. Simply google farmed salmon/diabetes/obesity/cancer and you'll see what I mean. I'm sure that with Harpers blessing, these farmers are laughing all the way to the bank, while our poor wild salmon swim round in European strain fish farm diseases and we get a product so inferior on our plates that it could be considered detrimental to our health...
One of the big reasons to dislike present day open pen salmon farms is because they're massive and destroying our fragile eco system...imagine hundreds of thousands of poor fish cramed together into little net pens, swimming in circles through each others shite! And that's what makes these farms so filthy too,...incredible city sized tons of chemical laden poo comes out of the farms, which then goes on to smother and do nasty things to the seafloors, reefs and creatures below...
Not only are open pen salmon farms notorious for spreading disease, they can also be infested with vicious and voracious sea lice. These flesh and blood sucking parasites are as attracted to caged farmed salmon as fly's would be to a million fenced in cows standing next to their own poop...not only can these lice spread diseases to wild fish, but a single louse that latches onto an innocent young wild salmon smolt swimming by a farm can be deadly...this can result in a gong show up the food chain, affecting Orca, bear, eagles, and many others
Would you eat an animal that's been tortured?
When sea lice become drug resistant and start smothering their fish, the farms have resorted to bathing the salmon in hydrogen peroxide for 20 to 30 minutes to burn the lice off...it's extremely cruel and inhumane and many thousands of fish die from the treatment.
Since the fillets from these salmon would probably look normal, the consumer has no idea if the flesh they're eating was tortured or not. If the farms were on land, the lice wouldn't even be a problem.
I could go on about how many thousands of innocent seals and wild life they kill just for trying to get at the fish through their nets, or how unsustainable they are by robbing oceans of others fish to feed their own, but I think you'll agree there's more than enough information already to never want to eat farmed salmon again and maybe it's time we let everyone else know that too...
After 3 estimates, and because of special effects, this video is going to cost around $20,000...My hope is that you love this idea and my wish is that you can help to make it happen!
If you'd like your health, food, wildlife etc. related website to appear at the end of the commercial, let me know....the more we can get the word out about this dirty industry, the sooner they'll clean it up.
Thank you for your generosity and remember "Friends don't let friends eat farmed salmon!"
