Sandra's Cancer Treatment Fund
We are Cydney and Cameron Mihell and on behalf of her family and friends, we are setting up this page for our mom, Sandra Hodge.
Our goal is to raise $70,000 for medical treatments outside the country for a recurrence of metastatic colon cancer.
Our mom was first diagnosed in late 2010 and had emergency surgery and 8 months of chemotherapy. This harsh treatment had many negative side effects and was hard on her body. The cancer stayed quiet for about 5 years.
In 2015, the recurrence was found, and our mom took 3 chemo sessions, but the results were very harsh, and she was not able to withstand further treatment.
Within the last year, the small tumour began to grow significantly, resulting in pressure on her leg nerves and is affecting mobility considerably and walking is quite difficult.
Our mom is just finishing up 10 treatments of radiation in the hopes of shrinking the tumour to relieve pressure on the leg.
Feeling she has exhausted all traditional routes, our mom is looking to an out-of-country clinic for alternative treatments.
Prior to the recurrence she had been employed as a 15-year contract worker at a local community college in Language and Communications. Since then, she has been on disability, but remains rooted in the community through art and literacy.
We appreciate any donation you are able to make to join her friends and family in best wishes for restoration of her health.
Thank you,
Cydney & Cameron
