Today(07.12.15) staff parents and pupils at the royal school for deaf children and Westgate college heard the devastating news that the John Townsend trust that runs the school went into administration. This is an invaluable facility to not just local children and young people but across Kent and the country.
As parents/families and workers of a children and young adults at the school and we are worried where these children will get the education they need else where.
Deaf schools are closing across the country but the royal school for deaf, margate not only meets th needs of deaf children, these are children and young people with additional needs as well as deaf, including medical, behavioural and learning. There is no deaf schools like this anywhere in the country.
We need to fight to save this very special school and the amazing work it does for these children and young people
