Keep the Words Flowing!

My name is Scott Oden and I'm a writer. In the past, wordsmiths sought the patronage of nobles and wealthy families; it was considered a mark of refinement to have a writer in your entourage, especially one that was known in wider circles for their prose or verse. While I'm no Shakespeare, I nevertheless come to you, like the writers of old, to seek your patronage.
I write fantasy and alternate historical fiction, and I'm published in print and e-book by Thomas Dunne Books/St. Martin's Press. My previous titles include THE LION OF CAIRO (2010), MEMNON (2006), and the international best-seller, MEN OF BRONZE (2005). I've finished my fourth novel, A GATHERING OF RAVENS, and have turned it over to my editor.
This is where you come in. I'm seeking patrons to help offset the cost of living associated with being a writer, allowing me to eat, have a roof over my head, and focus all my attention on writing the sequel to RAVENS. That's all great, well, and good, you might say, but why not just get a job like everyone else? Actually, I had one. I delivered pizza for a national franchise, working at night and writing during the day. Unfortunately, after a confrontation with a manager, I was let go. Where I live, decent jobs are hard to find.
Any donations I receive will go toward basic living expenses until I can receive payment for A GATHERING OF RAVENS. Regardless of whether you donate or not, I'd like to offer you a free short story: ALLECTUS, part of the Tharduin Cycle of tales. Thanks for your time!
