Second Draft Press is an artist collective on its way to becoming a press. It is founded by Rabha Ashry and Laura Johanna Waltje.
It is for and by queer people, people of color, and most importantly qpoc.
We are dedicated
to the investigation of raw, impulse driven work
to accessibility
to the creation of a community and the invitation to collaboration
to an exchange of knowledge
to the exploration of new mediums
to drawing the wrong way
We are raising money so that we can build our website and begin printing, which will eventually allow us to pay our artists. This will help us register as a legal entity, allow us to start our submittable page for our literary journal, help us build connections to local galleries, venues, and book shops, and buy art making supplies.
As we grow, it will also help us cover rent and food.
The sooner we have the funding the better! We are dying to make work and to create a platform for underrepresented voices that create raw experimental work.
