“Séptimo” tells the story of Alejandro, a young 26 year old man who intends to make his own feature film while overcoming addiction, personal issues and surviving a deplorable economic situation in one of the countries with the highest inflation rate in the world: Venezuela.
We've been working on this project with lots of effort and dedication. Our main goal is to create a story that talks about independent filmmaking when there are no resources to work with, while talking about this subject from a fictional point of view. We will also be making a documentary film that portraits the pre-production and production process of our featured film.
We are a group of young people from Venezuela, who through the years have worked together to create audiovisual pieces that tell stories and make us learn at the same time.
As independent creators, we consider important to talk about this matter, since it’s a reality in which every person in this business lives in and sometimes it doesn’t receive the necessary attention from the masses, especially when it comes to Venezuelan filmmaking. Also, we seek to show who and what goes behind the whole creative process of the final audiovisual piece.
In this campaign, we are asking for a collaboration of $15.000 to cover production expenses for the development of our project. In the following graphic, we show you all the expenses we intend to cover with the money we collect, sectioned down in percentages.
Money is the big issue for us. Since we live in a country with the most dangered economy in the world, it's practically impossible for independent filmmakers like us to cover all the production and post-production expenses for a film. Most of us earn a minimum wage and while we're dreamers, seeking to reach our goals, the harsh reality of our country has made us back down from a lot of projects. However, "Septimo" it's a make it or break it for us and we're really motivated to make this film! Even if we don't reach our final campaign goal, we'll do our best to bring this project to all of you.
