Help Shannon Regain Independence!

I want to start off by thanking you for your kind and generous heart. The people who sacrifice their own personal savings to better the lives of others are true gems in the world we live in. It has been inspiring to see the outpouring of love for those who have encountered hardships beyond their means and I only hope there is still enough love to be showered upon my dear friend, Shannon, during this difficult time in her life.

Shannon has been fighting for her life for years due to a disabling medical condition most recently known as Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Due to her condition, it is nearly impossible for her to function normally while in high stress conditions and because of this, she has been housebound in recent times to lessen the occurrences of episodes.

In 2017, she adopted Nova, a German Shepherd, in the hope that through dedicated and specialized training, this dog could become a dependable Service Dog to mitigate her disability and aid in regards to her condition, allowing her to regain her independence and have some semblance of a normal life. In November 2017, Shannon learned that her Service Dog prospect, who is less than a year old, may have nerve damage largely in part due to poor genetics. Nova has been by Shannon's side through an extremely difficult year and she is a part of their family forever. Unfortunately, this diagnosis makes Nova unsuitable for Service Dog work and Shannon has had to make the difficult decision to search for a new prospect to preserve her own life.

Due to Shannon's disability, she is unable to work consistently, and therefore is currently experiencing financial hardship due to needing to pay for a prospect in addition to Nova's new medical bills and future surgery/recovery expenses. While Shannon has found the perfect breeder who specializes in the breeding and training of Service Dogs, she is still in need of $1,750 CAD to pay off the remainder of her prospect. Her prospect will be ready to come home in less than six weeks and due to the current exchange rate, those of us in the United States have the ability to contribute far more towards that remainder.

All donated funds will be immediately transferred to the breeder upon withdrawal. If we are able to raise more than our goal, the additional funds will go towards the Sleeman family for the sole purpose of Nova's medical bills to help further alleviate the family's current financial burden.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, not only for thoroughly reading my dear friend's circumstances, but for considering sharing your own hard-earned savings with her to help her regain her independence and help her become that much closer to living a "normal" life.

Warmest regards,

Danie
