Shanique Baker Funeral Arrangements

Our beloved daughter, Shanique, passed away on April 12, 2018 due to medical complications from a brain tumor. She was teaching English in Xi'an, China when she passed. Shanique followed her dreams of teaching to students in a foreign country. She had a great love for people, animals, and family and was always willing to help those in need.

Shanique sought medical assistance for her condition, but due to China's regulations could not have surgery without a parent present and could not initially travel back to the states. We were attempting to obtain an emergency passport to travel to her but then was told she would be cleared to travel home. Instead, 24 hours later our daughter had passed.

We have set up a GoFundMe page in hopes of receiving monetary assistance to aid in bringing our daughter home. We were told that the cost to bring her home is estimated between $16,000 and $30,000 US dollars. This is the amount that will have to be paid to China to have her body shipped and does not include the fees for her funeral service.

We humbly ask you to contribute to bringing our daughter home. This has been an emotional journey for us and we cannot begin to have closure until our daughter is laid to rest.  We, the family of Shanique, sincerely thank you in advance.
