Help me publish The Bayou Diaries
Donation protected
I am a published author and working journalist tired of being told by traditional publishers that this book won't work. My goal is to write (which I am in the process of doing) self publish, distribute and promote a book detailing the story of the Louisiana shrimp fishermen and their struggle to survive, which I have witnessed and written about for local audiences during more than a decade.
The working title is "The Bayou Diaries" but other titles are under consideration. The funding will help ensure (1) that I can come out from other projects and devote time to this without income interruption (b) keep me secure in the knowledge that I can indeed not only self-publish, get this project on Amazon and otherwise get it distributed, but also properly promote the book.
This is the story of men and women who are among the last independent Americans, who have struggled long and hard to keep their culture and their way of life viable. If I am able to publish I plan to donate a portion of any profits to an appropriate organization that aids fishing families.
