HOME IS WHERE THE ART IS

The Sir Hubert von Herkomer Arts Foundation is a charity inspiring a generation of young people by offering them a gateway to the arts. 

It is vital that we have a space to offer to the children in deprived areas of the city to ensure our work with them is followed up and they are inspired and supported to be creative, keeping them away from a life of potential violence, crime and gangs.

By funding after-school, weekend and holiday classes and workshops, we provide children with the inspiration and tools to develop lifelong artistic passions.

We have been supporting over 200 young people this summer at our POP UP Gallery/Studio, in Gospel Oak area of London, providing children with arts, music and photography workshops. We were highly commended for our exciting and motivating workshops by the Mayor of Camden Jenny Headlam-Wells and Keir Starmer Labour MP who came to visit the gallery in July.

We were also featured in an article in the Guardian newspaper, Long Hot Summer: How Kids Can Stay Safe from Gangs and the Camden New Journal as well as the Ham and High.

The space we have been using was donated free by Camden Council, which we have now had to vacate. We urgently need to raise funds for a permanent home for the Foundation so we can continue our crucial work with the young people in this area of London, providing them with a safe place to go after school, weekends and school holidays.

We are temporarily housed at LSM sharing a space as you may already be aware of but this is a shared space limiting us to numbers, so until the first of March we will be housed here while we look for a permanent space of our own and this is why we are fundraising.

We need to raise these funds as soon as possible. The funds will go to find a building to house our projects for the young people to continue their workshops in the ARTS.
