To purchase trail cameras

Donation protected
A couple of months ago myself and three other biology teachers here in Brevard county formed a team called the Space Coast Eco Geeks and submitted a proposal to attend a teacher workshop in Costa Rica at the La Selva Biological Station.  This program is offered through Northrup Grumman and only 4 teams are selected each year from across the country.  We feel very fortunate to have been chosen for this experience.  The teachers selected in participate in a  program whose goal providing teachers with resources and learning opportunities in environmental science.  This unique, nationwide teacher professional development program is designed to equip teachers so they can inspire students to pursue science and technical careers and become our next generation of environmental stewards and innovators.

While at the La Selva Biolgoical Field Station  in Costa Rica we will conduct a research project.  Our project will involve using camera traps (trail cameras) to capture images of local and elusive wildlife.  Once we return we will continue with phase 2 of our project which is monitoring gopher tortoise burrows looking at armadillo's using the burrow and the possible impact of sea level rise affecting the utilization of these burrows by local fauna.

In order to complete our project we are looking for donations to help in the purchase of trail cameras, batteries and SD cards.

We thank you for your time and interest in our project.
