Sports Medicine at UCLA is a non-profit student organization at University of California, Los Angeles. All of our members are passionately involved in sports, whether it is soccer, yoga, or marathon running. Therefore, we know by heart the benefits of leading an active lifestyle, not just for the health of our body but for our mind as well.
Unfortunately, these benefits do not extend to all. From our survey visits to various schools in the underserved areas of Los Angeles county as well as to Colonia Margarita Moran in Tijuana, we found that most kids are in the shadows when it comes to positive implications of physical activities on our mind and body, not to mention the lack of access to even simple sports equipment like soccer ball or baseketball hoop.
As a club, we are devoted to promoting healthy lifestyle through sports and safe pratice of sports. This entails donating sports equipment to those schools and villages in need, providing educational presentations that raise awareness on the importance of leading an active lifestyle, frequent injuries in sports and injury prevention, as well as engaging them in various physical activities. Most importantly, we are determined to put a big smile on these kids' faces at the end of the day!
That said, we need your help. Your generously donated sum will go to purchasing necessary sports equipment, such as goalposts, nets, balls, helmets, and much more. Any amount is greatly appreciated and will be publicly thanked for on our social media (facebook ; instagram) when the donation is made.
