Amazing educational opportunities are few and far between. Even if one presents itself, it is often missed as the people given them just don’t have the time or money to take advantage of the opportunities. This is the predicament that is plaguing us today.
Coming from a very small town and trying to fundraise a large amount just doesn’t mix. It is especially difficult when the program, or activity, that the fundraising is for comes at very short notice.
Our class has been presented with such an educational opportunity. Hillsdale College has given us a chance to study abroad, right out of high school, and to gain college credit while doing so. Three college credits to be exact! This is an amazing opportunity for everyone that has the ability to go. This program will allow us to see the world and to experience sights that we may never have a chance to experience again. This may be our last chance to go out and live before our lives get in the way. Of course, there is a snag: funds and time.
Time had already begun dwindling by the time we received this opportunity. The knowledge of the program's existance and the materials were not received until after the initial deadline had passed. Luckily, none of the programs have yet been filled, but the longer it takes, the more unlikely it is we will be in it. Due to the time shortage, we have also not been able to raise the necessary funds on our own. This site, this fundraising resource, is the last chance we have at being able to take advantage of this opportunity.
As of yet, I know of four students interested in this program. That is four lives (at least!) that could be forever touched by the experiences that they would receive from an opportunity like this. I know there are more that long to attend this program, but many are daunted by the amount needed to attend.
The funds this campaign raises could touch the lives of various young people forever. The only question that remains is: Will you be a part of it?

- I like games, a lot. Computers or games are basically what I want to do for the rest of my life. But there’s a world of difference between seeing a picture or recreation of the place and seeing the actual place. I must add that you could also say that I love to write. I’ve never been given an opportunity like this and I don’t think I can just let it slip passed me. More than likely, the only way I can go on this trip is if I fundraise the entire everything I need and this site is the best chance I have of doing that.

- I enjoy reading and hanging out with my friends. I also participate in karate and have placed 2nd in the 2014 Kimura Shukokai Karate World Tournament. I would love to have this experience of studying abroad, but due to my family's financial situation I will not be able to do this without your generous help. I love learning about different cultures and places and seeing them would be amazing. To everyone who donates: Thank you!

NOTE: At present, this campaign is just to try to help get the deposit needed to ensure places in the program. The deposit is roughly $400 per person. After the funds for the deposit is met we will have more time to raise funds, however it is unlikely that we will be able to fundraise enough money for more than one person to attend the program. The overall cost per person is approximately $5,000.
