Steven Valentino Burn Relief Fund

On March 8th I while was doing some yard work in preparation for a vegetable garden. I start clearing a vast amount of over grown weeds, grass & rotten wood. I was using a controlled brush burn method to create healthy ash to be incorporated back into the soil.

While I was working with the burn pile the wind kicked up and stoaked the fire into a frenzy. As I moved toward the front direction of the flames to soak them down. I tripped on a hidden stump. I ended up falling forward (On Top Of The Fire)

I scrambled as fast as I could to get out of the fire. Which began to increase. So I took action the Fire Department called Along with EMS. I was rushed to Chapel Hill burn Center for treatment.

This accident seems so surreal

3rd Degree burns to Both shins and knees

2nd degree Burns Two both fore arms and the left hand.

Plus superficial burns to my face.

On Monday March 13th I had two types of skin graft surgery two my arms and legs. Plus ended up in ICU with Too much Fluid in my lung.
After three days of bed rest the splints came off. And the lungs were cleared up...

☆I'm VERY Blessed to be Alive and to only have burns that were only on top of my legs and arms. Blessed to be in the care of The Burn Care Hospitals around.
They've been my heroes every step away... my release date is set for possibly March 24th. And then I need to heal the rest of the open wounds and go into PT for my needs walking and arms...

☆Here's where your Money Will Help Me.... Just a few Day Prior to this accident My Wife's Healthcare Policy arbitrarily Dropped Me From Her Coverage which we've had Since 2008. There was No Notice Only A Term Asking About Our marital status...!?! Which makes no sense to us and we're currently trying to fix the situation via a Healthcare Appeal. This can take A while...

☆Also I own a Food Truck & Catering Business... Which is suffering from me being hospitalized as well as amount of downtime. I'm going to need to recover as my wounds heal and I get more movement with physical therapy which you looks like I'll be out of work for at least a month or more.

I'm not one to ask for help in this manner but anything will help. Being burned and going thru this pain has started to be life changing for me. There is going to be more things to get over. As my inner strength is being challenged. I'm getting stronger each day. But that doesn't pay the bills at the moment. I am very thankful you took the time to read about my new journey and I'm willing to share and talk you anyone who wants to know more about my progress and future...
