I am Hadi Houalla, a Lebanese-American student at Lycée Rochambeau the French International School in Washington D.C, and the founder of Students for Syria.

Throughout the 2016-2017 school year, I am raising funds to purchase school supplies for Syrian Refugees in Lebanon.  All the funds collected will be put towards the composition of 30 backpacks, filled with the school materials requested by our recipient school, Jusoor.
In July of 2017, the backpacks will be delivered to the Jusoor Centers for Syrian Refugees in Lebanon (Jusoor Website )

After we meet our gofundme goal is met, the funds will be combined with money raised at the Lycée Rochambeau and transferred to Lebanon. There, I along with Suha Tutunji, the academic administrator of Jusoor, ([email redacted]) will purchase the materials and distribute them at a date in July to be determined. This project would not be possible without the support of LearnServe International, a DC based organization supporting young social entrepeneurs.

With more than half of the nearly 500,000 school-age Syrian children registered in Lebanon not enrolled in formal education and the vast majority lacking the adequate resources to attend school, I plan to supply refugees with school materials this summer.

My travels to Lebanon have exposed me to the harsh realities of the Syrian Civil War, and the impacts the conflict has had on young Syrian refugees.

I would greatly appreciate any contribution to Students For Syria and thank you for your will to assist Syrian children in Lebanon receive an education, and improve their status.
