Superman's Journey To A New Life

They say it takes a village to raise a child. So what does it take to raise a sick child? What if that sick child has 3 siblings as well that need to be raised? What does it take to raise that child?

On August 29, 2015, 10 year old Anthony Skipper suffered a near-drowning accident via seizure while bathing and rescued by his 8 year old brother Willie. He was given CPR by his mother and revived with help from medical personnel. He was without oxygen for at least 15 minutes before EMT got a pulse.  Anthony now suffers from Anoxic Brain Injury and has to learn all basic life functions over. He is currently on a ventilator and requires oxygen as well.  While in the hospital, Anthony attempted to breathe on his own and he did well! Until one day his lungs filled with fluid and collapsed causing him to get a trach put in his throat. Unfornately it has caused him not to be able to swallow so he has to be suctioned often (placing a tube in his throat to get the secreations out). Anthony has endured so much in his short life on earth. Being born 1 lb 4 oz, having 4 surgeries before the age of 1 and being told several times he wasnt going to make it. But by the grace of God he is still here FIGHTING!

Anthony is the oldest of 4 children being raised by their awesome mother. Tyrell has been able to provide for her children over the years. There is no way she could have expected this tragedy to happen. Currently she is unable to work due to Anthony's numerous appts per week, sometimes he is without nursing staff because like any job people call out, so she is left to be his nurse. We are asking that everyone comes together and help this family out. Being a single mother of 1 is hard but imagine being a single mother of 4, one who is now severely disabled.

He has shown signs of progress, but his doctors don’t expect him to ever walk or talk again.  But God has already shown us that the doctors words arent realiable. The family prays to God daily and knows that he is the ultimate healer and has the final say. He is currently wheelchair bound or bed ridden when not going to appts.

As you can imagine, the family’s bills are piling up and his mom can use all the help they can get.

Any money raised will go to paying their monthly bills so they can keep their house afloat and Anthony's hyperbaric chamber therapy, transportation cost and essentials, which is not covered by the insurance so that he can continue to fight, without the financial burden. So she can provide the best life possible for these angels and provide them a safe place filled with happy memories, that they can love, be loved in and Anthony can fully recover that lines up with the word of Christ.
